How does one begin?

I purchased The Cannabis Grow Bible a couple of years ago and have done nothing since. We don’t smoke so more interested in medicinal use. Probably just 2-3 plants, but I quickly got information overload. It can’t be that complicated. Thanks for any suggestions.

That is an amazing resource you have! I bought the 3rd edition about 2 years into growing cannabis - and wish I had gotten it sooner. The nice part about that book as it's correct information all together. You need to weed through (excuse the pun) a lot to find the good online.

To not overwhelm yourself, the most important thing is genetics of the seed you're growing. And then depending if you're growing indoors or outdoors, your nutrients and grow lamp. You can piece together a budget friendly set up or get an all together kit.

Maybe start with a few of the growing chapters about germination and vegetation in the Grow Bible in addition to looking at lighting and seed genetics from a reputable seed company. I started with Royal Queen Seeds.

Thanks! It is plant selection that bogged me down, I think. So many terpenes to consider and low maintenance, climate/soil compatibility is also important. Some gardeners take great pride in coaxing along exotics, but I’m more a put-it-where-it-wants-to-grow person.

Understood and you are right on that. Were you wanting to do indoor or outdoor? I've only grown indoor myself. Started with soil but changed over to coco coir. I've been personally very happy with using Coco as my medium.

I think honestly the genetics play a big part in how vigorous a plant will be, and the actual cultivar itself.
