Greetings from NW Arkansas!

Hello Everyone! Have lived here since 1974 in the same house, same phone number, and same husband! Homeschooled our 4 children K-12 and we all loved it. Have always had a garden since moving here, sometimes small and sometimes large. Have always been an organic gardener but never reaching the goal of tons of produce to share. Have gone from using a pick axe to till soil and now only grow in large pots with organic soil and compost. At 79 it's easier! Never got into the no-till although that sounded nice. I grow lots of flowers in the ground and also in pots. Always on the lookout for gardening tips and learning more about regenerative farming/gardening too. Blessings to you all, along with fresh clematis blossoms from my garden now blooming.

Hi and welcome! Beautiful clematis, looking forward to seeing more.

Hi there! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I like those clematis too, I'm not familiar with them but they sure do look nice ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I'll bet your kids loved growing up with a garden, I know I did! My Mom's garden is what inspired me to get into growing ๐Ÿฅฐ

We had really compact soil here too, so I threw a pound of daikon seed everwhere and it was hugely successful in drilling holes in it and allowing moisture to finally drain through instead of washing away.

Would have needed a pickaxe without the daikon! No way a broad fork could get through.

I think I'll grow lots more daikon next year to improve it further, I was so happy with the results ๐Ÿ˜
