About Dan Hennion
Regenerative Gardener & Ecologist
Dan Hennion is a regenerative gardener, ecologist, and soil fanatic with 12 years of experience spanning vegetable gardening, indoor cannabis cultivation, regenerative practices, soil-building, and ecosystem restoration.
He specializes in regenertive growing methods, soil health, and sustainable gardening practices that work with nature, rather than against it.
Dan grows vegetables year-round in his desert garden in Zone 9a, where he implements soil-building techniques, cover crops, experiments with soil amendments, and practices what he teaches. When he's not planting seeds, you'll find him volunteering with the community garden program, writing gardening articles, and building out the regenerative gardening community on this site.
His practical knowledge comes from solving problems out in the field: from battling blight and powdery mildew in humid East Coast summers, to building rich soils and resilence in the Sonoran Desert. He shares his research, experiments & outcomes, and what actually works in the garden (including the failures that taught him the most).
He has also historically run a number of online communities, forums, wikis, and web spaces for people to connect and come together and is passionate about building the infrastructure that communities are built on.
